Appearance:
Initially, David has short black hair...which he intends to growing out his mane, it is a trademark of his heritage to lengthen it and eventually, make one braid alongside the left side of his head. His brown eyes easily turn to a deep violet when in Citizen Soldier mode. He sports an athletically built frame, shielded by the "Golem" Body Armor. That is adorned in black with a blood-red Star of David draped over his right shoulder. His belt, specialized combat boots, helmet and back weapon compartments are also black, along with the Axex wrist gauntlets. He carries the Sword of the Lord over his left shoulder in the back weapon compartment as well.
To infiltrate society, David brings himself just slightly to the level of the average man. Keeping a rather professional yet casual look to him. Wearing long-sleeved dress shirts, faded blue jeans or khakis, and with the coming of the warm seasons upon us: sunglasses, necklaces, and the occasional sports jerseys of his preferred sports teams. Adorning his feet, can be anything from red-and-black DC skateboarding shoes to red-and-white Etnies. Anything that is in the range of red, black, or white...Alastair will wear it. Also, on special occasions, he will don t-shirts promoting bands that he supports...followed up by his custom red-and-black New York Mets hat.
Personality:
Once an optimist in the era he was from, the Foreigner has grown quite different from decades futures past. Now, he is gruff and grizzled due to past traumas, the Foreigner always seems to be carrying the world on his shoulders. The future, as what Alastair sees, is a dark and bleek path into oblivion. As in his future, the most powerful governments on Earth have succumbed to a powerful organization known as the “Dark Church”, the codename of the modern incarnation of the historical Illuminati. Once he learned the truth about what happened behind the scenes and that a shadow organization was running the show, he utilized his newfound powers to destroy this “21st Century Slavery” and install freedom and power back into the hands of the people.
In spite of such noble ambitions, David is a very hardened character. Devoid of any emotion since his arrival to our present era, a scowl is always present on his face. Always thinking of the overall mission while everything else is merely an objective to that mission. Along with his fearsome appearance, David manipulates his voice into deep, low, and gritty growls and small, yet intimidating statements. His eyes also project a sort of supernatural glare, as given to him through the Projects when going up against opponents, which gives the Foreigner a sort of advantage in battle.
David rarely, if ever, goes outside of uniform. However, to further blend into early 21st Century society, he wears simple t-shirts, blue jeans, sweaters, shorts…whatever suits his needs given the weather that Tokyo provides. On occasion, he will sport his native New York sports teams’ jerseys. His main favorite teams are the New York Jets and the New York Mets, respectively. His personality has a small variance from that of the Foreigner, although he maintains a very polite and courteous attitude in public situations.
All in all, he is a warrior who considers his quest for a better world a war of attrition. David uses his intellect and technical prowess to push the balance in his favor. Through technology, the Zion Technique, or allying himself with other heroes, he strives to achieve his goals and accomplish his mission.
Abilities & Weaknesses:
Powers/Abilities
- Enhanced Regeneration: David’s primary ability and power. From gunshot wounds to lost limbs; these lost muscles, bones, tissue, and skin can instantaneously reform back to its original state before such an injury. Derived from the project in which he was created from: Project Citizen Soldier.
- Super Strength: Comparable with even the most strongest of End Warriors, The Foreigner can lift up to ten times more than his own weight due to enhanced muscle fibers in his body. In times of crisis and distress, he can light more than 20 times his own weight. Truly, he could leap across tall buildings in a single bound. This is another outcome from the Project itself.
- Enhanced Youth: Due to the Project, David’s body ages a lot slower than that of most human beings. Once his body reaches that of adult status, which has been achieved, his genetics enable the most vital parts of his body (without high spiritual strain) to last for centuries.
- Toxic Immunity: Poisons, toxins, and radiation wouldn’t bother the Citizen Soldier in the least. This also spreads to viruses, diseases, and anything that would be harmful for ordinary humans wouldn’t bother the Foreigner. Which helps David move about in contaminated areas and avoid deadly strains, either natural or synthetic.
- Super Agility: See that blur that he just made before going unconscious to a hit coming from nowhere? That was the Foreigner. As a substitute for high speed, genetic-engineers enabled the Citizen Soldiers to move in short, quick bursts to either elude an opponent or for offensive uses. Also, this added agility gives the Foreigner an uncanny ability to elude bullets, missiles, melee weapons, and offensive strikes with particular ease.
- Super Stamina: Falling from a great height? No problem. Like the Coyote in numerous Looney Tunes cartoons, the Foreigner can easily bounce back from numerous fallings, kerplowing through concrete and steel buildings, and brutal beatdowns and still manage to pick himself back up with little physical problems.
- Substantial Spiritual Pressure: Thanks to his training in the Zion Technique, David’s pressure is actually noticeable and gives him the ability to see spirits, shinigami, and hollow that happen to be wondering the earthly plane. This also gives him the ability to unleash the Zion Wave and harness the Zion Technique as well.
--------
- Nano/Mechanical/Engineering Genius: They didn’t give the Foreigner the codename of “The Engineer” for nothing. With his knowledge, education in nanotechnology and the application of fusion energy, David’s inventions are numerous, efficient, and powerful in their respective departments and measurements.
- The Zion Technique: One of the most rarest martial arts techniques in the world, David is currently perfecting his spiritual energy and encompassing that same energy into this technique. With his time and work put into the Technique, he can only unleash the Zion Wave: a beam of pure spiritual energy. Only in time of crisis, David can successfully release a higher form of Zion Wave: the Zion Cannon. The Zion Wave can easily hurt human-esque opponents but has low yields of energy yet takes away energy from both the user and the living things surrounding the user. Not enough to harm the surrounding elements, but enough to drive the user into being “out-of-breath”.
- Master Martial Artist: Embedded in his DNA, David has been implanted with many forms of fighting techniques. Ranging from Shaolin Kung Fu and Wing Chun to the more recent Krav Maga and MCMAP. Also, David has knowledge in Muay Thai, Savante, and Boxing. All of this was due to the Project and reawakening of the Citizen Soldier side of him in those days of future’s past.
- Marksmanship: Thanks to the Project once again, David can hit moving targets over a half mile away. Using either the “Halo” or by his specialized eyes, The Foreigner can pinpoint, anticipate, and acquire a moving target…no matter how fast they can be.
- Pilot: Give David a tank. How about letting him work an airplane. In short, the Foreigner’s abilities give him knowledge and know-how on how to operate many different types of military and civilian vehicles.
- Stealth: Stemming from tutelage from Jen Nagle, David was taught to appear out of thin air and disappear the same way. Using his black outfit and working at night has helped his cause when dealing with opponents. With his technology much more sophisticated and more advanced than that of early 21st Century technology, David can easily infiltrate any building, base, or restricted area with relative ease.
---------
Equipment:
- Sword of the Lord: Handed from the hands of the patriarchs of the Hebrew priests and most notably, Kings David and Solomon, David possesses a relic from another age. Although it has been modified over the years into a longsword from its original sickle sword state, the materials that the Sword is made from are unearthly powerful compared to its counterparts. Some say that the stone from which the Sword was forged came from the heavens and possess spiritual power that coincides with the user’s own also.
- “Axex” Wrist Action All Purpose Gauntlets: The Gauntlets are exactly all-purpose: they fire bullets, tranquilizers, and even houses grappling hooks that help sling the Foreigner across high rises or capture an enemy. The gauntlets also allow for knife like attachments to the gauntlets known as “bayonets”. For either close hand or long distance fighting, the Axex Gauntlets are top of the line in this era and for many eras to come.
- “Golem” Power Armor: Made from nano-based molecules that hold together the outer kevlar against blunt force trauma and stops bullets and projectiles cold in their tracks. Also, the power armor helps protect against extreme heat and extreme cold. Thus, enabling David to be protected in every way possible.
- “Halo” Military-grade helmet: Set with HUDs, advanced computer systems, and also laced in kevlar, the Halo also releases a telepathic barrier that prevents any sort of telepath to get into his head. It can also be used as a weapon in close quarters combat, by either headbutting attacks or as a melee weapon. All in all, the “Halo” serves as a weapon and protection for the Foreigner.
- “Swarm” Multi-purpose Nano-weapons: Laced in small silver balls, the “Swarms” are used for either bombs, synthetic pests against adversaries, smoke grenades, act as temporary “weak” barriers or anything else. The “Swarms” are capable of being modified at any time.
- “Unicorn” Fusion-Powered Motorcycle: A modified Buell motorcycle equipped with a fusion-powered engine, making it more efficient and faster than internal combustion vehicles...not to mention, safer for the environment. It is also equipped with advanced computer systems, a hatch that protects the rider or riders from any exposure or weaponry, and compartments that provide either high-powered machine gun turrets or nitrous boosts.
Weaknesses/Physical Flaws/Psychological Flaws:
- Mortality: Although harder to kill than an average human, The Foreigner can be killed. Numerous gunshot wounds to the head and chest, severing his spinal cord, strangling, or drowning can easily do him in. However, his equipment helps in fighting against those forms of death.
- Nationality: The Foreigner sides with no particular nation, save for one: Israel. Israel is his heritage, his family, and his source of power. Even to the point of leaving his duties to help his countrymen in need. This may come between other heroes and him when it comes to crises in the Middle East.
- Lack of Loyalty: David’s not a team player. Instead, he focuses on his mission on stopping the Dark Church from altering the future in any way, shape or form. However, he is more than capable of creating friendships, but he portrays himself as more anti-social. For the fate of the world is on his shoulders each and every single time he wears the black and blood red.
- Hydrophobia: Harking what ancient Israelis fear the most, is something from the water and that of the water itself. The Hebrew people were originally land based people who were weary of seaborne peoples. Perhaps it translates that David despises even the deep end of the pool.
- Broken Stuff: Despite all those shiny looking toys and look practically unbreakable, they can be broken. Thus making the Foreigner more vulnerable to attacks from opponents. For example, beam weapons or electromagnetic pulses can fry any of David's vehicles, weapons, and technology.
History:
2017. Before we start on David’s history, we must look at the events of this era. Through a strong recovery economically yet maintaining a military presence abroad, the United States is seemingly as strong as it had been in the nineties. However, this United States isn’t the one that the great Abraham Lincoln envisioned. Instead of “by the people, for the people”, social stratification and paranoia has caused the nation to turn into a paper tiger of sorts. Where the US Government is only a puppet for show to the public through houses and monuments. The government is run by a “shadow government”, which slowly…is starting to direct lives of both politicians and citizens in everyday life.
David is a genetically engineered human being, a product of Project Citizen Soldier, a secret project conducted by the United States Government to create the perfect fighting machine. Out of the first three Citizen Soldiers created, David was labeled a reject and was slated to be euthanized and erased from written records. However, a few scientists dealing with the situation sacrificed themselves to aid in the young experiment's escape from the facility, resulting in sending the young Alastair to an orphanage at an undisclosed location in the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. There, he was adopted by the late John Rosenzweig and wife Melissa, finding himself a loving home. From there, David and his new family moved to Jerusalem due to the fact that John would be closer to his job and occupation. Everything was happy until the events surrounding one night. This one night left both of David’s new parents dead at the hands of unknown assassins. As David went to investigate, he was found by them. With his back against the wall, young David screamed out. David shut his eyes and prayed that his death was quick, until something happened. Before David could understand what was going on, he blacked out. The next morning when David was found by the authorities, all of the supposed assassins lay lifeless, leaving David all alone. With the death of his family, David was taken back to the States under the care of John’s father, Rabbi Benjamin Rosenzweig.
2034. Through his hard-work ethic and Benjamin’s tutelage, David overcame adversity and succeeded on all levels. This would carry the young David Rosenzweig to a four year degree from Wagner College and a satisfying job. To congratulate his accomplishments, Ben presented a gift to David. Something that his family has carried for numerous generations: The Sword of the Lord, a sword that was forged for the legendary King David himself. To David, it was an interesting gift to say the least, and accepted the ancient weapon. When he reaches his apartment, he senses something strange. What was subliminally happening to him was a transition from his inner self’s dormancy to a reawakening.
As days pass, David toiled to master these new abilities as something outside of his window seemed to watch him; patiently waiting to strike. That day finally came as a large machine suddenly attacked David, who was quietly spending the night in his apartment. David utilizes his new abilities to defeat the mecha, slicing its head clean off with the Sword. After the short battle, David finds a nameplate inside of his fallen opponent. This is where he finds the name of the persons that are supposedly after him: Draco Industries.
Fearing that more of those things will come, David decides to find out who he is and what lies in store for him. And the only answer opening up to him as of that moment pointed to that of Henry Draco, CEO of Draco Industries. With this knowledge, David tries to scrap together weapons to aid him in case his venture got hostile. Subconsciously, he creates the Axex Wrist Action All-Purpose Guns and spray paints an old plain black t-shirt a red Star of David.
David sneaks into the Draco Building and eventually faces Henry Draco himself. Before David can react, Draco tells David what he really is: a Citizen Soldier; for it was Draco who authorized the creation of the Citizen Soldiers in coordination with the United States Government’s Black Budget. Draco also informs David that it was he who also gave the order to hire the hands necessary to eliminate his parents and when David himself was starting to figure things out, kill off the rediscovered Citizen Soldier as well. In a fit of rage, David attacks Draco, killing him by throwing the CEO of Draco Industries through the grand window of his office. As security reached the room that the two struggled in, David was long gone.
Fearing for his and his loved ones lives, David fled New York City for Washington D.C. For he had to find answers, and pitting his new found abilities to the test, he sought to infiltrate the heart of the American military itself: the Pentagon. Moving to Baltimore temporarily, he prepared himself by forging equipment, using spare money at buying merchandise from army surplus stores, and using his vast knowledge and skill at nano-technology to its fullest potential. However, forces that acquired information concerning the newly rediscovered Citizen Soldier were closing in on him in the form of Jen Nagle, a mercenary and former child soldier acquired by the “Dark Church” from an early age.
This game of cat and mouse came to a head when she finally appeared at the door of his small, run-down apartment and opened fire, splintering the door and hunting the reeling Alastair. Yet the Citizen Soldier wouldn’t be defeated by an assassin, and defended himself in a heated close quarters battle that left the apartment into a warzone. The fight concluded with a clear victory for the Citizen Soldier, as his fledgling abilities prevailed over her years of vigorous training. Successfully capturing Jen Nagle, he sought answers as what and who he was fighting against.
From her information, the truth was finally revealed. The United States government, as well as the most powerful governments in the world were run by people making up of “the Church”. They are the movers and shakers of society, creating puppet leaders that see their policies through, create themselves as separate from human society by creating a bureaucracy of bureaucracies. Needing armed forces to protect them from the masses, they went ahead to financially back Project Gilgamesh and Project Citizen Soldier to create “born-and-bred” supersoldiers to enforce their will upon the people. This left the young David horrified, learned that he would be nothing more than a puppet for heartless tyrants. He breaks down, looking away for a few moments and lets his emotions out. His former opponent looks on before comforting him, citing that unlike her, he once a “normal” life. Nagle admits that it was always something that she always sought: to have a caring home instead of fighting wars, which she describes as “old men talking while young people die fighting for jaded beliefs that they are protecting their rights and loved ones”. Jen then decides that to attain this normal life, the both of them would need to topple the Dark Church while stating that she had insiders that could help the duo attain such an impossible goal. With Jen’s help, they ventured towards the District of Columbia in their quest to fight against the forces of “the Church”. Her main contact was an American general who resented their ominous presence over the American government: General Marcus Richardson.
Using what was left over of Jen’s equipment and David’s resources from the battle, the two broke into the Pentagon in search of the General. After employing Jen’s know-how on stealth and infiltration, the two had caught the General, who stayed late in his office, finishing up paperwork when the two arrived. Richardson was surprised with the sudden entrance, but once Jen identified herself and introduced David to him, Richardson knew that sooner or later…the “lost” Citizen Soldier would come around. He explained that ever since the “Transition Years”, he had been against the concept of a “world government” for it compromises the destiny of individual nations and that of individual people. Therefore, the agenda of the Church compromises with the ultimate choice and destinies of that choice done by individuals. With that said, the General presses both David and Jen to find their way to Dulce, New Mexico. There, they will find the keys to unlock the power to defeat the Dark Church once and for all: The Magdalene, which is located in the seventh floor underneath the base. All spoken too much, the elderly General urges them to leave at one and presses the alarm within the complex. In face of gunfire, the two barely escape the Pentagon and disappear into the Potomac.
Using that knowledge, the two regroup their resources and head west. Along the way, they encounter squads of the “Black Knights” the special ops corps for the Dark Church, lead by the infamous “Majestic 12”. After each and every fight, the two were able to defeat the squads or evade them. Their battles chained and dotted across the Deep South to barren open spaces of southwestern Texas. Finally, Jen and David reach the base located in northern New Mexico. Along the way, Jen reveals more information and stories of heroes of eras past. One who harness powers of spirits into his sword, a warrior of love, a tragic messiah, and a demon who served a priestess who were thought to be lost in antiquity. Hearing these stories, the transitioning Rosenzweig becomes inspired by these stories yet realizes that this era is much, much different than the epic age of heroes. Instead, he dwelled in an age of warriors and soldiers. Taking a deep breath, he follows the former mercenary into the abysmal depths of the base itself.
Breaching security, they race for the seventh floor towards the located of the Magdalene. They encounter heavy resistance from the base’s heavily armed security forces but soon find themselves on the now abandoned seventh floor. Coming upon the lab housing the Magdalene, they find out that the Magdalene is in fact a time machine. Jen points out that the United States government and the Dark Church must’ve mastered the side-effects of the failed Philadelphia Experiment. The both of them barricade the doors to the lab and begin to bring the machine back to operating form as security forces try to force their way in. In the nick of time, the dormant device comes to life as Jen urges David to step on the platform. She gets instantly retorted, as David begs her to come with him to which she refuses, telling David that “you are the one who can right the wrongs; you are the past that was, present that we are, and the future that we should be”. Just as the security forces break in, she revs up the power generator as she multiple gunshots to her backside, causing David to yell out to her. With her last dying breath and motions, she flips the switch and tells David that “Rome and the Sable Cicada are waiting for him”. Watching Jen die before his eyes, flashes appear before his eyes as David is transported through space and time.
2011. When the flashes subside, he finds himself in Dulce once more yet finds that a large explosion…stemming from the re-emergence from the time stream. Using this breach to his advantage, he escapes from Dulce with relative ease, slicing up and gunning down all who stood in his path. Having escaped from Dulce, David instantly travels East to Rome. With documents given to him from Jen during the journey across the 21st Century southern United States, his targets were easy to find: for they were all Catholic cardinals who were the founding members of the “Church”. Infiltrating Rome and Vatican City, David easily bypasses security and assassinates them to redirect the future and stop the formation of the Church once and for all. He soon disappeared once more and tracing the name of the Sable Cicada…finds that the Sable Cicada is in fact the legendary Chou Sen: Diao Chan. The only non-Hebrew to master the Zion Wave, she is capable of teaching the budding Foreigner with the expanded powers of the Zion Technique. Reaching her secluded base, he earns her blessing for her to further teach him of her abilities. In record time (due to his imbedded abilities), he possessed the ability to fire the Zion Wave and in times of crisis, fire the Zion Cannon. Before leaving, the Foreigner asks Chou Sen a question. “People whom I have had contact in the future told me to look for the Magdalene in Japan. Tell me, is there someone with large spiritual presence there?” Rosenzweig asks, dressed in his hand-made upgraded gear. To this, Chou Sen responds: “Yes, there is not one Magdalene there from what I feel. Yet, there are many.” Nodding, the Foreigner bows farewell to his master and leaves the Himalayas for the Land of the Rising Sun. There, in upper Shibuya, he swiftly buys an apartment overlooking the city and takes his equipment there with him. In no time, the chic apartment has become his headquarters, his fortress, and his armory. He also constructs the Unicorn motorcycle, utilizing the Fusion engine and mid-21st Century computer systems and decides that in effort to find the Magdalene, he must become a vigilante in the meantime. Mainly to keep the Church at bay and to find those with large spiritual presence. For together, if or when David locates them…can be vital to our very future. Whether our future will be bright as day or as dark as night…

Something snapped in the Foreigner's head, as if a chill ran down his spine...even through he was well protected in his suit. Reacting with logic rather than instinct, David's right hand reach for his helmet. His fingers depressed a few controls on the helmet itself, sending his line of vision into one of infra-red mode. He had to see through this rain somehow, someway. And there, from his perch, he scanned around and below him. All in effort to find a power signature or the anomaly that suddenly hit him. Within the security of his head, his eyes narrowed as nothing came up...before a beeping sound rang inside the helmet and information filled the heads-up display.
Its source was a few blocks away from his location. That, and a couple hundred feet down. If he was getting strange sensations like this one within his first month of residing in Tokyo, he was sure he'd find plenty more by the end of the year. There couldn't be that many people with the kinds of abilities that easily draw the Foreigner into contact with them, could there? As he switched the settings back to regular human vision, he started downwards to the surface level and using a variety of leaps, bounds, and hops to get down a lot quicker. The lightning flashing over the sky added to his stealthy maneuvers to get him there as well. He had to admit, he did like thunderstorms like these. They really help in masking one's movements.
Little did the Foreigner know, that he was indeed the one that had been sensed before he sensed the presence. After all, in using the Magdalene in getting back to present day, there was strong possibility that he shattered many rules of time and space. Pitching them by the wayside to neatly describe it. However, there was slight chance, unknown by the Foreigner, that he could have jumped from one time line....which was his to a brand new time line. As the Foreigner moved ever so closer to street level, the idea strayed away from his mental capabilities for the moment.
In fact, there was one time traveler who went back in time to obtain an old computer to combat a computer virus in the mid-21st Century. However, what this time traveler did was bounce from one time line to another and back. That time traveler went by the name of John Titor. A survivor of the third world war which pitted the people against the government. The cities against the countryside. Knowledge from Titor's time in the time line in which he provided was the fact that a small nuclear exchange took place and eliminated the cities and the government which took control of the United States. And to this day, Titor's existence is highly speculated as to the means of time travel or the fact that he even existed at all.
The Foreigner landed in a soft thud upon hitting the ground level. He found himself staring at the stranger giving off that presence. He had found himself looking at a tall woman in front of him. Almost his size, but more feminine. From the sensors in his helmet and from the dimly lit street lights, her skin was a dark complexion and was holding an umbrella to shield her from the pouring rain. From his landing position, his body close to the ground...he silently rose up to his standing position. His shoulders arched up, arms at his sides, line of focus driven towards the woman in front of him. His breathing was steady, yet his pulse was rising slowly. There was something strange, and it wasn't the fact that this lady was in Shinjuku at this time of night...alone.
Through his helmet, he spoke out to her. An electronic voice that to the ears interpreted as the native Japanese language echoed out to the woman. "<This presence that I feel... How is it that I'm receiving strange vibes coming from you?>", he called out calmly. It was some odd reason that this person attracted the Foreigner like a moth to a flame of light. His breathing became heavy, as his displays were relaying information...such as height, complexions, measurements, and detecting of strange powers that it couldn't pinpoint. Surely, this wasn't going to be a trap of some sort, was it? His mind prepared for what may end up happening. Which would be defending himself.
Again, little did the Foreigner know was that he was the one who had streaks of time distortions coming forth from his aura. Like a stranger in a strange land, being drawn to the source of such distortions and anomalies. The mission to go back in time and eradicate the Dark Church from the face of the Earth...did happen to have different side-effects than what David could expect. But here, he was entering unfamiliar territory. Which made him slightly uncomfortable. Marching into the unknown and then some.
