Appearance:
Kallisto has bronzed skin and platinum blonde, almost white hair. Her hair is messy and extends to about her mid-back. She has a small nose and a large mouth. Her facial features tend to be more rounded than anything else, and her overall appearance is that of a typical youngish girl. The exceptions are her eyes, that are slightly larger than normal and are a deep blue. Usually, she wears homestitched clothes dyed a bluish teal with the seams a bit obvious. She wears brown gloves and a type of footwear that is typical to her homeland. In bad weather, she does have boots that she wears and a long, heavy jacket that covers her entire body but they all are homemade and unusual for the situation. She wears a halter top style shirt.
The more apparent side-effects of her powers are four horns atop her head and a black tail that ends in a spade shape. Typical to a demon, one might say. She has difficulty hiding the tail, but luckily has the cloak to wear as a headdress. Occasionally she will use cloak as an actual cloak to hide her features, but she has to hold it together. Her powers have also altered her natural figure. Rather than being normal, her legs appear to be much stronger than most others' and her upper body appears to be just as slim, but a tad more defined than most people. By no means should she be considered muscular, simply athletic would work much better.
Personality:
Ari’s a nice, talkative person. She never hesitates to help out a friend, and usually likes to help out in general. She doesn’t, however, enjoy any hard physical labor. That, to her, is punishment for whoever is doing it. No exceptions. Very social and expressive, one can usually tell the emotion she’s portraying on her face quite clearly. That said, she is an emotional person, and can go from very, very happy to very, very sad with relative ease if the situation calls for it. Normally, she’s in a good mood, and she’s optimistic about everything, but occasionally she can get very sad and lonely. It’s not hard to tell. She has a good sense of humor and usually is quick with a joke or otherwise witty quip. If a joke backfired on her, however, she finds herself flustered and completely clueless as to how to respond other with a swift flurry of “sorry”s. In addition, Ari does play video games. She doesn’t care that she’s a girl as opposed to some who use it to gain virtual popularity. In fact, she doesn’t really give any hints to indicate that she’s a girl, and responds like she’s male.
Things are rarely completely honest with Ari, though. A result from a mostly friend-lacking and lonely childhood, she holds secrets near and dear and never would reveal them. The best she could manage is to subtly hint about them every now and then, but she can’t outright tell people. Her happy demeanor, a lot of the time, is simply a mask. She believes that if she isn’t smiling, then there’s a chance that nobody will have anything to make them happy, too, even if that thing is something as simple as someone else being happy. A bit overdramatic and completely odd, but that’s what she subconsciously believes. In a sense, she has given herself a duty to feel happy all the time- something that conflicts with her actual feelings often. She prefers not to let people see her sad at all, and will enter periods of seclusion to try to sort out her problems by herself. Then, if stumbled upon, her face will show her true emotions: sadness, a feeling of hopelessness, and a look of near-concern, something people aren’t usually accustomed to. It’s likely that she’ll say that she just wants to sleep, so it might even come as a shock to some. She’s not the perfect social butterfly her parents think she was, and Ari takes steps to make sure nobody knows it. She has issues with trusting people and lies about her past, and has grown to be quite a good liar. Ironically, what she wants most is someone to trust and to listen.
When it comes to scaring Ari, the methods are usually kind of backwards. Most people, when scared, are scared at bugs, snakes, poisonous creatures and other things that could kill them. Ari thinks spiders are cute and doesn’t really care much about the poisonous things. Bugs annoy her, yeah, but she can kill those pretty easily with a fly swatter. No problem. What she’s afraid of are purely fictional (except not really)- zombies, vampires, mummies, the list goes on. She can’t sit still during a scary movie, constantly squirming and half-covering her eyes. She's fine with real life, but it scared of fiction.
Ari does not like her powers at all. She thinks the only thing with a purpose is the fact that she’s naturally more agile than most humans. Her other powers- the many things contributing to her appearance- she thinks of as completely useless and somewhat of a plague on her family. She’s rather ashamed of it even her powers were out of her control and her parents accept her fully. If someone tries to bring it up or anything about powers, she’ll try her best to stay clear of the subject.
She tries not to think about her past. If someone tries to press a conversation on her about her past, Ari feels offended and maybe even tells the person little snippets. She rarely, if ever, even considers to tell people about her background, despite wanting to. When her parents are brought up, rather than talking about how much she hates them, she actually defends them. She feels as if it’s her fault that she got abused, and even goes so far as to believe false memories to justify their actions, when in reality nothing was her fault. She wants to be rid of her parents, but she can’t stand to think that they might be disappointed in her.
Abilities & Weaknesses:
Here is a list of your character's strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Describe each one in decent detail.
Powers/Abilities
- Balance and Flexibility - She has grown to be able to balance for amazingly long times on amazingly small surfaces. Oh, and she's practically a contortionist.
- Athletic Ability - Ari can simply jump higher and run faster than most people her age. Nothing special there. Her cardiovascular system in particular is outstanding for her age.
- Minor Fortune Telling - No, really, Ari can (very inaccurately) predict the future. If it's something huge, she'll be able to tell that something huge is coming soon. That's it. She ran away much too early to be able to learn much of anything from her mother.
- Reflexes - Ari's been living in fear for most of her life, of course her reflexes are going to be crazy fast. She reacts quickly to everything.
- Lying - While not a moral strength, Ari can lie like the best of them.
- The powers she possesses because she's a mutant only enhance her athletic ability, reflexes, flexibility and balance, improving each so that it's unusual for a person her age to be as good as she is in those areas. The future telling was taught to her by her mother (and was passed down her family line for generations) and everything else came from experience (lying, practice so she's somewhat proficient).
Possessions:- Her "Dust Cannon". Ari's main weapon, which she affectionately refers to as her Dust Cannon, collects dust and other little tiny particles and creates a cannonball out of them. It fits on her arm like a full-length gauntlet and, surprisingly, has little kick. And it hurts. Oh lordy does it hurt, it's like an actual cannonball. It slips on her arm and has various straps to put some of the weight on her other side. The dustball comes out above her hand and there's a little button for her thumb to shoot it. Not only does it hurt like an actual cannonball, it explodes on contact, sending dust and other particles into the air. Not fun. Oh, and it can filter water to make it perfectly clean, so you can shoot various microscopic pond organisms at people, too! The gauntlet itself runs on solar power, but its collectors are so sensitive that it can collect sunlight in just about any situation. Really, the only time it gets no power is when it's a cloudy, rainy night.
- The Cloak. It looks just like a thin, silk blanket but can be used to teleport distances of up to one hundred feet. It works simply by dropping it on your head and envisioning where you want to go. When you come out, just pull it out of the ground. There will be a tiny little corner stuck in the ground that's typically easy to pull. The Cloak cannot be torn while not in use. While in use, that's a different story. It's not flammable either way. She typically wears it as a headdress/headband type thing. She ties it around her head and the rest of it falls behind her. Like a cloak, or a cape, or a long headdress! Luckily for her, it looks nice, so that's always a plus.

Weaknesses/Physical Flaws/Psychological Flaws:
- Demonic Appearance - She has horns and a tail. She's extremely self-conscious of her appearance and this doesn't help.
- Self-Conscious - Her self-esteem isn't great at all, and she's bad at taking compliments. Her own personality gets in the way of things.
- Hand To Hand Combat - She has her Dust Cannon, which is great when she's not up close. When she is up close, all Ari can really do is just swing the gauntlet around and hope that she hits her opponent. She really has no sort of up close style or strategy at all.
- Trust Issues - She cannot trust people easily. She may appear to, but she won't, which brings me to the next point.
- Compulsive Liar - She hides her true emotions and doesn't let people in. She lies to get around this, and her talent at lying helps hide everything about her personality from others.
- Has Trouble Accepting Help - Her need to not be a burden has a big effect on her actions. She isn't good at accepting help at all.
History:
Born in a separate dimension, Ari's world was always one of wonder and technology. The technology, however, was applied much differently than the dimension she's in now- the one of eschatology. Her home dimension was much like this one but its technology was much more geared to making the world a nicer looking, cleaner place. There were very few large cities, but there were many, many smaller ones strewn about. She was born into a small city in the equivalent of Greece. Her parents were gypsies, she was born as one, too. By all means she should have stayed one, but she ran away.
Her childhood was filled with awful things. Her mother abused her father in every way she could when nobody was looking. Verbal abuse, physical abuse, all kinds. The few breaks he did get he decided to let off some steam by assaulting young Kallisto. His assault didn't end at only calling her worthless or other names to bring her spirits down, and it didn't stop at beating her. He sexually assaulted her many times. However, she had to stay. That was, until she reached the age of fifteen. She ran away one day, ran far, far away. She stole her mother's weapon, the dust cannon, and grabbed one of the many cloaks her family had enchanted for later use. She got away successfully and found herself in the middle of the woods, completely unaware of what she was to do next. She had run away from home, away from all of the pain. However, the scars weren't only skin deep. She was forever changed for the worse because of them and doesn't trust people, doesn't open herself to people, and is very afraid of love. Her powers and appearance prevented her from blending in in one of the cities around the country, so she decided to just walk until she found some place she could call home. She arrived at a small village on her sixteenth birthday. It was deserted.
Normally, she would have simply passed the place up. Maybe knocked on a door or two, but she would have kept on going. But Kallisto had been walking for days and she was thirsty, hungry, tired... She had to stop. So she did. Nobody was there, however there were supplies in the houses. She gathered what she could and got refreshed. The next day, when she woke up, she the sole denizen of the village, an old woman, peering over her. While Kallisto was fearful at first, the old woman revealed herself to be someone who could save her. She told her not to run away. Kallisto got out of the bed and backed away. She was going to run away, no matter what this woman said. However, despite the woman's pleas and cries not to continue back, she ended up falling into a trap door. She blacked out. And when she woke up, she found herself here, the cloak around her head and the dust cannon on her arm.

It just... laid there for a while. Bleeding. Or... Something. Honestly, this was the most thorough science project Emira had ever witnessed. The thing seemed to actually have ketchup inside of it. Now, why something would need to bleed, she didn't know. It could totally have been an anatomy project, but whatever. She wasn't concerned with it. She wasn't concerned with it. Being so unconcerned, naturally, her eyes were fixed upon it. After all, she wasn't entire sure what it was. It could have been anything. Science project, experiment from a mad scientist, whatever it was it was creepy. It was beginning to creep her out a bit. Why in the world would someone do something as intricate as that? It just didn't seem logical. Why put forth that much effort for something that people are just going to shrink away from because of how gross it was? It bled! Emira would have just drawn something. She really hoped that the schools here didn't have crazy high expectations or anything. She was smart enough for the "smart classes" that would require such a project, it was just... She never did anything. She had studied once in her life in eighth grade for a quiz that never happened and she has sworn off it since.
Snapping out of her musings, she found that the thing was... Convulsing. Right in front of her. If that thing was alive and just... She hated to even think it... Skinned, she would kill something. Nothing deserved such a punishment, she didn't care what it did. The disgust turned to nothing outwardly, inwardly it was burning anger. She knocked on the door another couple times and set her things down. What, was everyone out on a field trip to Canada or something? She supposed that could be nice, but on the day she was supposed to arrive? It was terrible. No, not just terrible. Terribad. Especially since this thing was practically having a seizure in front of her and she didn't know what to do. Helping it might make it worse. Maybe it would be best to ignore it, to swear that she didn't see it, to swear that the taxis are just disgusting creations and some poor helpelss stray-
It just stood up.
It just got up and grinned at her like nothing ever happened.
This was out of a horror movie. The poor damsel, Emira, was being hunted by the demon thing that looks gross and is the kind of thing that would pop up on the screen, accompanied by a loud shriek, probably sending most of the audience back a bit before fits of awkward, stifled laughter at their own stupidity. It was a movie. Except it wasn't a movie anymore. And it wasn't screaming. In fact, it actually sounded...
Pleasant. In a broken down, half dead but still hanging on kind of charming. Wait, what? Well, whatever it was, it could speak in coherent sentences. That's a start. Doctor Emira to the rescue, time for the professional analysis.
"Are... Are you okay? Need some help or something?" Her expression turned more confused than anything. It wasn't exactly normal to see something like this. That was an understatement. Wasn't exactly normal? Try 'Emira just stepped into the Twilight Zone'. That was basically what happened. Doc Em here needed to try and at least do something, but she really had no clue. She didn't exactly carry around first aid supplies, and even if she did she wouldn't have been able to do anything. How did this thing bleed? What in the world was this thing standing in front of her, and what was its gender so she could stop referring to it as an it? Though, Emira thought that she should probably not just outright ask what gender it was. Calling it 'it' wasn't too much of a moral stretch. She had called classmates that before. Two wrongs don't make a right, but they do influence the overall morality scale if you're adjusting it appropriately to balance yourself karmically. That right there was wisdom she would have to remember. It should totally be her facebook status later. If she ever was granted the luxury of access to her new shelter.
